Black Cube phono stage

The Black Cube phono stage has gained cult status among vinyl oriented music lovers since it has hit the market in 1995. Countless positive reviews and awards and an absolutely unique customer satisfaction worldwide document this truly exceptional success.

The Black Cube is a phono stage developed for the analog oriented music lover. The small box can be placed near by the turntable. A wide variety of pickup cartridges can be connected ranging from mc to high-output mm.

The Black Cube satisfies even very high demands to analog audiophile music reproduction. The quality of the sophisticated electronic circuit equals the outstanding sonic performance at a price you would never expect when you hear the Black Cube in a blind test comparison.

The passive RIAA-network of the Black Cube is placed between two linear amplifier stages - highly buffered special amplifiers by Analog Devices. This minimizes nonlinearities caused by phase errors that would occur in active filters. The use of low tolerance WIMA capacitors results in a very stable sonic impression with a fast attack response, delicate tonal balance and realistic soundstage information

The external regulated power supply of the Black Cube can be placed up to 2m away from the audio section. The cable between power supply and audio section is shielded to keep rfi away from the near noiseless and highly stable supply voltages. This effect is even enhanced by additional supply voltage filtering on the double sided audio pcb.

High-End analog music reproduction is affordable now since the Black Cube has hit the market!

+++ July 16. 2004 Review of Black Cube Linear in German major Hifi magazine Stereo. Holger Barske writes: "...the skill is in the parts selection and the circuit board layout. As a result it is not surprising that the Black Cube Linear outshines the built-in headphone output of every CD player or amplifier we could get our hands on. The shallow unit from Cologne pumped so much drive, impact and transparency into the earpieces of practically every pair of headphones we tried that it became alarmingly obvious that built-in headphone amplifiers are mostly nice gimmicks but in the end only temporary solutions."

+++ June 28. 2004 First review of the Black Cube Linear in German magazine. The Black Cube Linear gets as full page review in the German magazine Hifi & Records, issue 03/2004. Reinhold Martin writes in his conclusion: "At first go Norbert Lehmann got a headphone amp going that belongs to the creme de la creme of this amplifier species and is the authors new personal favourite."

+++ Jan. 12. 2004 Lehmannaudio receives SoundStage! "Hall of Fame"-award for the Black Cube phono stages during T.H.E. show in Las Vegas!
