These award-winning speakers are a member of one of the finest speaker companies in the world. These little toughies crave power up to 100 wpc and sound terrific..
Take a gander at these gorgeous Speakers.. Perfect for big sound in small spaces. With these speakers, strech the envelope of what he was known for yet further to venture into the LifeStyle arena previously dominated by Energy's Take Five system, Gallo Acoustics' Micro Nucleus and other high-performance miniature systems.
Just about everybody favors big clean sound but not everyone can live with big speakers that are often necessary needed to produce the desired level of listening satisfaction. There are additional benefits to using small speakers. First they can be put in an ideal listening location without being obtrusive either sitting on a table, stand or wall mount. Secondly due to the small physical size the enclosure will have low cabinet coloration, as the box panels are small and stiff. There are also advantages in superior stereo imaging by small speakers due to the small baffle diffraction effect.
The speaker is based on two high performance transducers. The Silk Dome Tweeter is based on a super efficient high power tweeter. It has a liquid cooled 25mm copper/aluminum voice coil assembly immersed in a high flux magnetic field generated by a massive shielded magnetic structure. Behind the dome is an acoustically damped chamber machined into the pole piece giving this tweeter an extended and smooth frequency response. This unit has plenty of headroom as it can attain peaks of 110dB in a listening room with virtually no compression.
The 4.5" woofer features a high technology cone material using a molecular matrix of aluminum blended with polypropylene. Polypropylene cones are noted for their smooth response and aluminum cones have the character of great detail and openness. The blend of these two materials gives all of these benefits. The surround is rubber so (unlike many competitors foam surrounds), it will not degenerate over time in a humid environment. These drivers are uniquely transducers, which were specifically designed to work in thespeakers. These are extremely powerful drivers for their size, utilizing large voice coils and powerful shielded magnets. The result is low distortion drivers with superb dynamics, fast transient response and smooth frequency response.
The transducers undergo strict quality control. Each transducer is computer matched (+/- 1dB) to our laboratory reference standard transducer. Each unit undergoes high power testing before being installed into an enclosure.
Each cabinet is machined from the highest-grade 15 mm thick MDF to within 0.2mm tolerance. Using state of the art wood cutting equipment specifically designed for loudspeaker cabinet production. The high-grade Maple laminate features an attractive silver color front baffle. The cabinets are filled with highly absorbent sound material that further enhances the speaker's transparency.
All resistors, inductors and capacitors are critically matched to close tolerances. All inductors use air-core coils to avoid saturation at high playback levels that can introduce distortion and drain unnecessary amplifier power. High current printed circuit boards are utilized and high current 24 carat gold plated 5-way binding posts are employed.75 Hz-22KHz
